Virtual Career Fair

November 16th - 20th, 2020

22nd Annual Careers in Construction Day

Careers in Construction continue to be the hottest jobs around for young people looking for a highly technical future. Please join us for Careers in Construction Day Virtual Event in October 2020, the annual event where students get valuable insight to the unlimited opportunities available in the construction industry - now virtually. This virtual event will allow individuals to explore careers paths in construction and dive deeper into any trade that interested them.

We ask that the students you direct to this virtual career fair have expressed an interest in learning more about construction related careers. Good targets are students that may be enrolled in construction CTE pathways, building technology courses, and engineering courses.

RCCI is pleased to once again partner with Monroe County which allows us to expand our program offering to our future building and construction workers.

There are dozens of different specialties that you can chose to pursue that involve critical thinking, math and physics understanding, problem solving - and yes - holding the tool of your trade. Construction workers work in logistics of filling thousands of pounds of concrete into wall without it cracking; lifting a steel beam hundred of feet into the air to the final story of a building; wiring electricity and data systems to keep the various life-saving hospital equipment working correctly; setting up a the mechanical system so that a power plant stays safe and operational; or detailing and refinishing 200 year-old woodwork in one of Rochester’s historic landmarks. Each trade and specialty has a specific set of skills, education, and experience needed to do the job right. Whatever your current experience and skills are, there is a path you can take to excel in the industry.
